I had a terrible experience when I tried to travel to Vietnam on Tuesday (15th )for 6 days holiday and I was turned away at the Hong Kong airport whilst trying to check in. I was told that I needed a visa after a friend advised me that I do not need it. I had already paid for the hotel and my flight and I could witness my flight departing in watch because it was too late to do anything. The experience left me traumatised as I was looking forward to my holiday. I have since moved my hotel and flight booking to the 12th of June and coming back on the 17th of June. Kindly advise me about the procedure and all the reasonable costs involved preferably in RMB please if you can .

Yesterday we applied for an E-Visa through Vietnam-Evisa.org and received an email to say that our application was successful but because of Lunar New Year celebrations we cannot expect to receive our approval letter until late on the 22 Feb. We are due to fly out on the 24 Feb and we will have insufficient time to purchase tickets etc. Is it possible to get the letter earlier than the the 22nd or, if that is not possible and as our application has been successful, can we travel to Vietnam and bring photos and completed forms without the approval letter and be given a visa at the airport?

Do I enter Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi as entry airport when flying from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh and then onto Hanoi (same airline - bags checked all the way through).

We received forms for Visa-on-arrival in Vietnam in May 10 with the intention of arriving in Saigon on May 30. On the day before departing US, my wife broke her arm and had to have a cast applied and was advised by her doctor to not fly with the cast. That will delay our departure from the US until June 15. We are British citizens. We didn't realise that the 15 day exemption was only for 1 visit, we were under the impression that it was 15 days in total regardless of the number of times you left the country.

I have booked a cycling holiday from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City entering Vietnam on 30th March next year. We will be crossing into Vietnam at the Phnom Den / Tinh Bien border. The on-line visa applications ask for the Airport entry points and do not cater for entry by road. Can I still apply for the Visa in advance using the on-line application form?

Two entries will be an overnight stay, You evisa seems to be for arrival at an airport not a cruise port. How does you evisa work for that?

Hi I'm flying into Cambodia on the 2nd of July and around the 6th or 7th of July my friend and I plan to enter Vietnam but it won't be by plane so I'm not sure how to go about attaining a visa? Or what sort of visa we should get?

I am sending my partner on a surprise trip to shanghai from the uk to meet his friends for 3/4 days then onto Vietnam for a week and back to shanghai for 3 days then back to the UK. My husband Charles and I already received our letter of approval. However, in filling out the application for entry and exit, I want to make sure that we entered Da Nang as our port of entry. Also, I do not recall being asked for Profession or Place of Employment on the Visa application but it is on the Application for Entry and Exit. Am I correct in remembering this and will it cause a problem if it was not listed on the Visa application.

Hello, I am travelling to Asia on 16 June and I am returning to the UK on 16 September. I would like to remain as independant and as flexible as I can during my travels. One of the countries I would love to visit is Vietnam but I do not have any fixed plans as of yet. I have been struggling to get in contact via telephone with the Vietnamese embassy in London for advice, so I wonder if you could advise me what I need to do in order to get a visa for Vietnam.
