I read on vietnamvisa.govt.vn that Vietnam Immigration Regulations issued on 19 JUNE 2017, VALID UNTIL 30 JUNE 2018 Italian citizens....however there is no mention whether this has been renewed now that June is gone. I am travelling to Vietnam in a week and then I read elsewhere that starting from the 1rst of July 2018, French, UK, Germany, Spain and Italy citizens can stay 30 days maximum in Vietnam without a visa. Is that correct? I cannot confirmation on official website.

We are travelling to few countries over the next few months and will be visiting Hanoi for 10 days. We will be entering from Thailand and probably continuing our journey to Laos.
As we will only be in Vietnam for 10 days do we need a Visa? If not what documentation would we need to have?

I got my certification of visa exemption into Vietnam ( No AR0489123 )is entitled to multiple entries till 19 of July 2018

a) is it possible to leave and re-enter the country within the 15 days?
e.g.
- enter Vietnam on Day 1
- go from Vietnam to Cambodia on Day 10
- stay in Cambodia for a 3 days
- then re-enter Vietnam on day D 14

b) is it possible to leave and re-enter outside the 15 days?
e.g.
- enter Vietnam on Day 1
- go from there to Cambodia on Day 10
- stay there 7 days
- re-enter Vietnam on Day 17, therefore getting a 2nd "15-day exemption"

Hello, I wonder if you can help me. I've heard that there is a visa exemption for UK citizens who wish to enter Vietnam for 15 days or less. However, as in the information above, it states that this applies until June 30th 2017. I have been living in Ha Noi,Vietnam on a business visa since January. I am leaving Vietnam on the 8th of June 2017 and then coming back for a few days between the dates of 7th until the 11th of July 2017. Would I need a visa for this? Thanks.

I am travelling to Vietnam from the UK on the 20th June 2017 and I'll be returning back to the UK on the 1st of July. Does the Visa Exemption cover these dates because my return travel is outside the exemption date.

We are planning to spend 13 days in Vietnam in July. The UK foreign travel advice website says that UK citizens are visa exempt for up to 15 days travel in Vietnam. However it also says that this is only confirmed until 30th June 2017. Can you please confirm if we will be visa exempt for our trip in July or if we will need to apply for a visa?

I plan on flying into Hanoi around 25th July 2017. I am a UK citizen, and a previous post from you or your colleague indicates I am exempt from needing a visa if my passport is valid for 6+ months and I am not going to be in Vietnam for over 15 days. is that correct, as I thought the visa exemption period ends on 30th June 2017?

Assuming the above is correct...I do not actually know how long I will be in Vietnam for - it could be under 15 days, or if I like it a lot, then more than 15 days, Can I just enter the country without a visa, and then if I decide later that I want to be there for longer than 15 days, then apply for a visa somewhere? Or should I just get a visa in advance or upon arrival?

My wife and I are British passport holders and will be arriving in Hanoi on 28/2/17. We fly from Da Nang to Hanoi airport on 15/3/17 arriving at 21:35. However, our flight from Hanoi does not leave until 1:15am. Although this means we would be staying 1 hour and 15 mins over the 15 days (I am told arrival and departure days are included) would we still be eligible for exemption as that hour and 15 is spent in transfer, as we will not be leaving the airport?

I arrive in Hanoi on 28 Mar 2017 by flight from Auckland (via a change of plane in Hong Kong). I will be leaving Vietnam on 6 Apr 2017 via bus or boat to Cambodia then fly home to the UK on a flight from Bangkok on 13 Apr 2017. Hi, i'm gonna go to Vitenam the 9th of janurary until the 16th janurary. At this date, i will pass the border of Cambodge, and after pass the border of Thaïland, all by train. So, my way back ticket is from Bangock. Is it problem that i don't have a return ticket from Vietnam ?

My question is: Do I need a flight ticket back or any other transport ticket to proof I leave the country before 15 days?

I want to cross the border to Laos by foot or maybe buy a bus ticket once in Hanoi, in case I need to prove it, how can I?

Air Asia told me I need this ticket and didn't let me took the flight I bought to Vietnam? Is this legal? Can they do this?

According the Vietnamese Resolution No. 46NQ-CP there's no need to proof this go-back ticket.

Can someone make sure is this right?

I am Spanish and I am travelling from Zurich to Hanoi via lay-over in Hongkong. Leaving Switzerland on the 2-dec and Arriving in Hanoi the 3-dec.
I will leave from Hanoi to Zurich via lay-over in Hongkong the 17th dec arriving to Zurich the 18th dec.

My doubt regards the way of counting the days (24h periods or solar days, from start to end of trip or from arrival-departure to/from Vietnam) and the fact that I see both (exempted for VISA when travelling less than 15 days and need a VISA when more than 15 days). My trip being around 15 days, I'm a little confused.

Could you please let me know if I need to apply for a VISA for the above described trip ?

I am travelling from Zurich to Hanoi via lay-over in Hongkong. Leaving Switzerland on the 2-dec and Arriving in Hanoi the 3-dec.
I will leave from Hanoi to Zurich via lay-over in Hongkong the 17th dec arriving to Zurich the 18th dec.
I believe this may count as exactly 15 days if I count the arrival and departure date from Hanoi, can you confirm that I don't have to apply for any VISA ?

So at the moment i (german) am in Camboda and will come to vietnam to catch my flight back home. My visa lasts until the 5th oktober but my flight back is on the 8th of oktober. can i just get to the vietnamese border/airport and get a 14 days approval?

I hold Italian passport and if I understand correctly I don't need a Visa. Upon landing I'll just walk to immigration desk without preparing or collecting anything at all.

As per your sharing, German can get 15 days visa exemption in Vietnam. However, latest entry should be beyond 30 days before.

How about if a German enters Vietnam with Study visa first time. Then exit the country before the visa due. Then enter Vietnam again with visa exemption one week later.

Is it possible or does he still need to stay outside the country 30 days before can get the visa exemption?

currently I’m in Vietnam on my working visa which expires 17 July 2016 since my internship is finished by then. However, I would like to travel through the country for a little bit.

Therefore, I would like to know what the current status of the visa exemption for Germans is now? Until 30 June 2016 Germans do not need a visa for a travel duration of up to 15 days. Since my visa expires, I will be leaving the country and re-enter again. Now if I just stay up to 15 days in Vietnam, do I have to apply for a tourist visa or is the regulation for the visa exemption extended and I can enter without a visa?

I read online that for visa exemption to apply you need to obtain a visa exemption certificate from the Vietnamese embassy locally. Hi up until recently i have still been getting 3 month multi entry visa for travel to Vietnam through evisa despite being aware of the 15 day exemption.now your site raises the 15 day visa exemption rule. when looking into this it still states you need to apply for the visa exemption and do so at Vietnamese embassy. what are the rules because i don't want to turn up at the airport in Singapore and either be refused on the flight or have issues in Ho Chi Minh when i land?
