Arrival in Viet Nam via cruise ship

Nov 14, 2017
Two questions:

[1] In April 2018 we will dock at 3 different cruise ship ports in Viet Nam: Ha Long Bay, Chan May and Ho Chi Minh City. Your procedural description for obtaining a Visa states that we must present the approval letter that we obtained on line, as well as 2 passport-size photos, at the "airport." Does the same procedure apply to arrival at cruise ship ports?

[2] Because we are arriving at 3 different ports, do we need a "one month single" Visa or a "one month multiple" Visa?

Hi Rona Senior,

The visa on arrival is for air travel only. If you enter Vietnam by sea, you need an e-visa. Please notice that an evisa to Vietnam once issued is valid for 30 days with single entry and for tourism purpose only. Referring to your itinerary, you are eligible for an e-visa. Please send your passport scan + 1 passport photo in white background for visa processing to our email visa@vietnam-evisa.org. In addition, you should inform us the exact arrival and exit port. The fee is US44$/pax and it takes 3 working days for tourists to find out if their applications have been approved or not, according to the directive.

Should you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us at visa@vietnam-evisa.org or call us at (+84) 909 343 525

Best regards,

Hannah Yan (Ms.)
