We are on a cruise in January 2019 that calls into Phu My (for Ho Chi Minh) on the 26th and then Chan May (for Hue/Danang) on 28th. Do we need a multi entry visa or can we use a single entry and for 2nd visit use the 15 day exemption. Can this be done by e-visa.

Please be informed that UK passport holders can have 15 days Visa exemption if you did not enter Vietnam for 30 days before and your passport valid for at least 6 month
As your mentioned itinerary, you can use visa exemption in case you meet the above criteria.
