Do I need a Visa/Passport chip is broken
Nov 24, 2018
Good evening Evisa Support,
I have a couple of questions which I would love some help with if that is okay?
Firstly, is the rule exempting traveler's from the UK from needing a visa if their stay is less than 15 days still valid? I am planning to be in Vietnam for a total of 14 days.
Secondly, my passport is still valid and perfectly legible however the chip in it has broken, do you think this would be an issue? I was informed of this on my return to the UK from my last holiday, and was advised in future to travel with my birth certificate also. Would this be acceptable for entry to Vietnam?
Many thanks,

Dear Callum Leake
Thank for your question
We are pleased to inform you that UK passport can have 15 day visa exemption if you did not enter Vietnam for 30 day before and your Passport valid for 6 month at least.
However, any issue with your Passport, we recommend you to renew it prior to your departure or check with the airline to make sure that they will allow you to board the Plane or not
Do not hesitate to contact us for further information
Regards,
Evisa team
