Information with regards to visa for UK citizens

Aug 11, 2016

I have just logged on to the site of the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia and have found that the information below has been added.

Unilateral Visa exemption for holders of passports of Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russian Federation, Belarus, the UK, Germany, Italy, France and Spain.
Vietnamese entry visa is required for all foreigners wishing to visit Viet Nam, except citizens of countries having bilateral agreements on visa exemption with Viet Nam or enjoying visa exemption by the Vietnamese Government's unilateral decision.The Vietnamese Government has UNILATERALLY decided that holders of passports from these countries will be waived off Vietnamese visas, if meeting all the following conditions:

- Tentative duration of stay in Viet Nam does not exceed 15 days (If tentative duration of stay is over 15 days, the applicant must apply for visa in advance);

- Passport's validity remains at least 06 months from the date of existing Viet Nam;

- For those who visited Viet Nam before, this entry date must be over 30 days since the last entry (If this entry is 30 days or less since the last entry, the applicant has to apply for visa in advance).

- In case the applicant intends for multiple entries in which the entry date of the second tentative entry is 30 days or less since the exit date of the first tentative entry, he/she must apply visa for the second entry. For example: The tentative first entry is from 01 June to 10 June, exiting Viet Nam and coming back Viet Nam from 27 June to 05 July, the applicant must apply for the second entry (27 June-5 July).

Note: Passport holders of Germany, France, the UK, Italy and Spain is exempted from Vietnamese visa from 01st July 2016 to 30th June 2017.
