Multiple entries with a single entry visa for Vietnam

I am an Austrian citizen with a valid single entry visa for Vietnam. However, my travel plans have changed and I need to leave Vietnam and come back shortly thereafter (all within the validity period of the visa). Is there a way to change my visa to a multiple entry visa? Or can I apply for a new visa although my current one is still within its valid time period? Or is there any other way to do this?

We are pleased to confirm that your visa will be not valid after you exit Vietnam. and if you want to come back again in Vietnam, you have to apply for another visa at our website: [vietnam-evisa.org] or The Vietnam Embassy.
