I just read that American tourists can apply for a short term multiple entry visa for Vietnam instead of a one year multiple entry visa. Is this correct?

Effective December 15th 2016, we are excited to announce that there is a small change for applying visa of US Citizen.
To attract Tourist and Business Travelers coming from the United States, Vietnam Immigration will issue a wide range of visa type, such as:
One Month Single/Multiple Entry
Three Month Single/Multiple Entry
Six Month Multiple Entry, AND
One Year Multiple Entry
For more details, you can check the visa fees on our website. From now onward, you will have more option to choose for Vietnam visa and do not have to pay the high fee if you just wish to travel to Vietnam in a short stay.
