visa

Hi there,
My husband and I have German passports, but are permanent residents of NZ. We are travelling from NZ to Vietnam in July for 10days. I have heard that Germans do not need a visa for a stay of less than 15 days, but I have seen now several times that this rule applied until June 30th this year.
I am not clear on our visa requirements now, can you please clarify.
regards
Renate

Dear Renate,
Thanks for your question!
From the date of July 1st, 2016 to over the date of June 30th, 2017: Vietnam government continues to give out 15 days visa exemption policy for citizens from 5 countries: Kingdom of Great Britain, Republic of France, Federal Republic of Germany, Kingdom of Spain and Republic of Italy.
If you enter Vietnam after Jun 30, 2017, you will need visa and you can apply visa on arrival on our website at this link: https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html
Best regards,
Nina

Thank you Nina,
Now I have tried to apply with Evisa and when I put in my details it tells me I don't need a visa and I found another question regarding short term trips to vietnam and that answer said the visa exemption has been extended to Feb2019. I am confused and it is important to get this right.
kind regards
