Hi. The British travel advisory states that British passport holders do NOT need a visa for Vietnam until 30 June provided travel is for less than 15 days. however, I have not seen this confirmed on any vietnam visa website. what is the rule? I am going to be in Vietnam for 5 days from 24-29 June.

We would like to inform that from the date of July 1st, 2015 to over the date of June 30th, 2016: Vietnam government gives out 15 days visa exemption policy for citizens from 5 countries: Kingdom of Great Britain, Republic of France, Federal Republic of Germany, Kingdom of Spain and Republic of Italy. As you mentioned, you will stay in Vietnam for 5 days so you do not need visa
