Visa Vietnam/Phú Quốc
Visa Vietnam/Phú Quốc
I want to avoid going there by plane so I will travel to Phú Quốc by bus and boat.
Do I need a visa for what I have planned?
Do you have any recommendations for me to save money when going from cambodia to Phú Quốc and then back to cambodia?
Thanks in advance and have a great day !
Dear Jan,
Thanks for your question,
We would like to inform that all visitors from foreign countries do not need a Vietnam visa if they stay in Phu Quoc for no more than 30 days.
Requirements for Phu Quoc Visa Exemption: To be eligible for Phu Quoc 30 day visa waiver, visitors must meet the requirements below:
+ Your passport must be valid for 6 months since your arrival date or else you should renew it prior to taking the trip to Phu Quoc.
+ You must fly from an international country to Phu Quoc via the Phu Quoc International Airport. This applies to direct, indirect and layover flights, where your final destination along the route is Phu Quoc. The onward destination could be any country, except Vietnam.
+ Your stay on the island must be less than 30 days. You must provide proof (return airplane ticket, cruise ship departure date, etc.) that you will be leaving Phu Quoc Island within 30 days in order to be granted a “Visa Exemption Stamp”.
+ You travel to Phu Quoc by sea (ship or cruise) or by air (airplane), not by land border.
In case you plan to visit other destinations in Vietnam after Phu Quoc or want to stay for more than 30 days, getting a Vietnam visa is a must.
Thanks and best regards,

1. Is this still exemption still covered given that the Vietnamese government are no longer issuing visas for British citizens for mainland Vietnam?
2. As we will be flying back from Phu Quoc to HCM domestically but will not leave the airport and will be in transit before we fly back to Hong Kong, do we need a visa?
Thanks
Natalie
Dear Natalie,
Visa exemption for Phu Quoc temporarily suspended for all Nationalities,
It is informed that due to the COVID-19 outbreak recently, The Vietnam Government will deny to issue visa on arrival or evisa for ALL NATIONALITIES (even if they already had the approval letter)
This decision will be effective from 12:00 (noon), 15 March 2020 for 30 days, and not be applicable to entrants for diplomatic or official purposes,
Please cancel your trip and wait until everything is getting better.
Best Regards.
Stepfano Tran (Mr. )
