Hello,
We are American citizens coming from Thailand and would like to visit Vietnam on August 4th or 5th for a week to see Vietnam for the first time, and also to get a visa from The Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi. Do we need to get a Vietnam visa for just 1 week of visit?

We would like to inform that you need a visa to enter visit Vietnam even just for 1 week. However, you can apply for a visa on arrival online by this link: https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html to get the approval letter which you can use to get Visa directly at the airport once you arrive.
