Ho Chi Minh City plans to launch fireworks and release hot air balloons on September 2nd – Vietnam National Day

The information about Ho Chi Minh City having fireworks on the occasion of September 2 was laid out by reporters at a press conference on the economy and society on the afternoon of August 17.

Discussing this issue, Chief of Office of the Department of Culture and Sports Lam Ngo Hoang Anh said that on the occasion of National Day September 2, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a photo exhibition; offering incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang. 

On September 2, the city will launch fireworks from 9 P.M to 9:15 P.M at the beginning of the Saigon River Tunnel (Thu Duc City) and Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11).

High-altitude fireworks will be fired at the beginning of the Saigon River Tunnel; Low-altitude fireworks will be fired at Dam Sen Cultural Park.

Fireworks display shall comply with Decree 36/2009 of the Government. Accordingly, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, September 2, the cities directly under the Central Government and Thua Thien Hue are allowed to display high- and low-range fireworks; the remaining provinces fired low-range artillery; the duration does not exceed 15 minutes.

On the 2nd of September this year, Ho Chi Minh City also organized an artistic lighting and decoration program at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street. The Department of Culture and Sports also proposed to organize a hot air balloon drop on September 2-3 at Nguyen Thien Thanh Street (Thu Duc City).
