Hue, a former imperial city, is third among Asia's eight most affordable holiday locations, according to online travel site Agoda, where average nightly accommodation prices are US$43.
At $28, Udon Thani from Thailand, the place where the traditional Songkran Festival is scheduled to take place later this week, comes in first place.
Surabaya in Indonesia comes in second at $39.
Kuching, Malaysia ($49), Kaohsiung, Taiwan ($101), Bengaluru, India ($55), Narita, Japan ($71), and Iloilo, the Philippines ($50) are the other destinations.
To compile the list, Agoda analyzed the average room rates at tourist destinations in April and May based on its booking data between March 1 and 18.
