Foreigners can stay in Phu Quoc Island without visa
Foreigners can stay in Phu Quoc Island not more than 30 days without visa obey to decision No.80/2013/QD-TTg dated on December 27th 2013 on special regulations to develop Phu Quoc Island and Kien Giang province.

According to new decision No.80/2013/QD-TTg dated on December 27th 2013 issued by Nguyen Tan Dung-Prime President on special regulations to develop Phu Quoc Island and Kien Giang province, foreigners or Vietnamese who has foreign passport can stay in Phu Quoc Island not more than 30 days without visa requirement.

In addition, foreigners who enter into national boundary gates in Vietnam (including air way and sea way) and stay in these international boundary gates to wait to transit into Phu Quoc Island can stay in Phu Quoc Island not more than 30 days without visa request.
The new decision will take effect on March 10th 2014. From now to the date which new decision takes effect, foreigners or Vietnamese who has Vietnam passport can stay in Phu Quoc Island not more than 15 days obey to decision No. 229/2005/QD-TTg dated on September 16th 2005.
The new decision aims to create a convenient environment for Kien Giang province to develop economy. Moreover new decision also has some special regulations on develop Kien Giang’s economy such as promotion and supporting investment, selecting advisors for new plans, important projects to improve Phu Quoc Island, etc.
- Regulation on promotion and supporting investment:
Investors who invest into Phu Quoc Island will have a chance to get highest promotions and supporting obey to decision No.29/2008/ND-CP dated on March 14th 2008 on industrial zones, export processing zones and economic zones.
- Regulation on selecting advice for new plans:
Deputy of Kien Giang’s People committee has a right to select Vietnam or foreign advisors, experts to conduct projects of overall growth’s Phu Quoc Island by 2020. The plans by 2030 will be done as a draft to present Prime President to accept and cancel the decision No.178/2004-QD-TTg dated on October 5th 2004.
