Vietnam extends Visa Waivers for 12 countries until 2028
Vietnam is enhancing its visa policies to attract more international visitors, extends visa exemptions policy to several countries and expanding E-Visa accessibility. These changes align with the country’s growing reputation as one of the top travel destinations in Asia.
Extended Visa Waiver for 12 Countries
From March 15, 2025, until March 14, 2028, Vietnam will continue waiving visas for citizens of 12 countries:
1. Germany |
2. France |
3. Italy | 4. Italy |
5. The United Kingdom | 6. Russia |
7. Japan | 8. South Korea |
9. Denmark | 10. Sweden |
11. Norway | 12. Finland |
Citizens of these countries can stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days without a visa, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry, as long as they meet Vietnam's entry requirements. The government may consider extending this policy based on future evaluations.
Temporary Visa Waiver for Three More Countries
In addition to the long-term exemptions, tourists from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland will also enjoy 45-day visa-free entry when travelling on tours organized by Vietnamese tour operators from March 1 to December 31, 2025.
E-Visa Access for All Countries
From August 15, 2023, Vietnam grants E-Visa for citizens from all countries and territories.
These visitors can enter Vietnam through 10 airports, 16 land border gates, and 13 seaports.
This system streamlines the visa application process and makes it easier for tourists to visit Vietnam.
